Reflexology

Reflexology is the practice of applying pressure to the feet utilizing specific thumb and finger techniques. Based on the principle that there are reflex points on the feet that correspond to the organs, glands and body parts, it enhances circulation, creates relaxation with the removal of stress, and is a complement to other healing modalities.

With ever increasing levels of stress in everyday life it is becoming important for people to take more responsibility for their own healthcare needs. Consider Reflexology as a method to manage stress in your life.

A non-intrusive complementary health therapy, based on the theory that different points on the feet correspond with different areas of the body. By working the reflexes on the foot with a deep pressure technique using the thumbs and fingers, blood circulation is improved, the body relaxes and balances and well-being can be restored.

If a particular part of the body is out of balance, the corresponding reflex may feel tender or sore during the treatment. When clearing the congestion in the foot it improves the body's ability to release and clear the congestion in the indicated area of the body.

Usually after a treatment your tension is reduced and you may feel more relaxed. You may also notice you are sleeping better and find your mood and sense of wellbeing improving.

While Reflexology works very well alongside conventional medicine, it should not be used in place of seeking professional medical advice.
